SULO Group’s Climate Targets Validated by the SBTi

SULO Group’s near-term climate targets have been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as aligned with the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement. This independent validation confirms that SULO’s climate ambitions meet the highest international standards and apply to all entities within the global SULO Group. The Group has committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030, based on a 2021 baseline. Additionally, SULO aims to cut the emissions intensity of its Scope 3 emissions – including purchased goods, services, and upstream logistics – by 51.6% per million euros of value added. Unlike offset-based approaches, the SBTi only validates targets based on real, measurable reductions. SULO’s strategy is focused entirely on eliminating emissions within its own operations and supply chains — from raw materials to manufacturing and logistics.

“This is a major step forward for the SULO Group. Our targets are science-based, ambitious, and independently validated. This milestone underscores our commitment to lead the industry in climate performance.” said Thierry Koskas, President of the SULO Group.

To achieve these goals, SULO is implementing a comprehensive decarbonization roadmap until 2030, including:

  • 100% renewable electricity and solar panel installations
  • Environmentally friendly fleet upgrades and use of biofuels
  • Energy efficiency programs across production sites
  • Increased use of recycled plastics and local sourcing
  • Internal carbon pricing to guide strategic decisions

All actions are monitored monthly to ensure alignment with the Group’s climate targets and long-term sustainability strategy.
