We embrace our responsibility
by taking the opportunityThe responsibility of SULO is to make best use of all resources and definitely not to waste them. At the same time this gives us the great opportunity to provide our customers with solutions to reduce their own carbon footprint and volume of non-recycled waste.
From purpose to implementation
After setting our purpose – creating solutions for today´s waste to be tomorrow´s resource – we have defined the objectives to implement our intention for the next three years. These objectives concern the Environmental, Social and Governance alignment of the SULO group. Our ESG strategy consists of five pillars, in which we declare a progress of 5 to 10 % on each issue per year.
The five pillars of the SULO ESG strategy
Building a culture of safety
SULO is a responsible company where safety is of the utmost priority. From a very early stage, selected teams have systematically focused on the safety of all production sites and coordinated the introduction of a health and safety management system. The aim was and remains to create a vibrant risk management culture to reduce accident rates and make it easier to comply with legislation while at the same time improving performance.

Reduction of the carbon footprint
We have been setting an ambitious goal to reduce our carbon footprint by 15% within three years for Scope 1 and 2 (direct and indirect emissions from energy) since 2021. Our comprehensive plan includes analyzing, tracking, and implementing actions to achieve a 5% reduction in emissions for 2023 compared to 2022.

Increase in the rate of recycled materials
We want to raise the percentage of recycled material in our total plastic consumption up to 80% until 2023. The percentage was 77 % in 2022.

Resources optimization
We commit to promote reduction, reuse, repair and prevention of waste and appropriate wastewater treatment. We implement actions to reduce waste and water consumption by at least 3% compared to 2022.

Empowering Women, Embracing Diversity
We aim to surpass the 30% mark of women in our Businesss Unit management teams within three years, promoting gender diversity and empowering female leaders. Additionally, we are implementing region-specific initiatives to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities, actively engaging and supporting local foundations.
